2026 Honda Prelude: What’s Changed?

After a 25-year hiatus, the Honda Prelude is making its triumphant return. As expected, this sporty coupe has undergone several notable changes since we last saw it. Powertrain

Perhaps the most significant change with the Honda Prelude involves the powertrain. The older model was powered solely by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The 2026 Honda Prelude also has a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine, but it adds two electric motors for hybrid performance and efficiency.

Transmission

One element of the Honda Prelude that always excited drivers was its available manual transmission. While the 2026 Honda Prelude doesn’t offer this, it has the next-best thing. It comes with paddle shifters, which augment the driving experience, along with Honda’s S+ drive mode that simulates gear shifts.

Technology
