How to Set Up HondaLink® in Your New Honda Car

Connecting to HondaLink

HondaLink connects you to the latest information from Honda Motors. To set up HondaLink, press the HOME button on the touchscreen. Then select GENERAL SETTINGS, followed by SYSTEM. From here, choose DATA SHARING SETTING and select ON. A shortcut menu will appear on the screen, with icons such as “All Apps,” “Bluetooth® Audio,” and “Trip Computer.” This menu will also display a notification icon if you have a new message from the system.

Setting Up Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™

With your phone set to “discoverable” mode, press the PHONE button on your vehicle’s touchscreen and select YES. A brief waiting period will follow, after which a list of pairable items will appear on-screen. Select your smartphone when it appears on the list. A “pairing code” will appear on the touchscreen and your phone. If the codes match, accept the connection request on your phone, and you’ll be ready to go.

When you pair an Android phone to your Honda Accord or Honda CR-V, Android Auto™ is automatically initiated. You can then use the vehicle’s touchscreen to access functions such as Google Maps and Google Now. Similarly, when you pair an iPhone with your automobile, Apple CarPlay® is initiated. You can then make a phone call, listen to music, and access messages.

Personalizing Your Settings

Dozens of settings can be personalized on your Honda vehicle – everything from sound and clock settings to display adjustment and touchscreen sensitivity. To customize general vehicle settings, press the HOME button and select General Settings, followed by the field you want to customize. To customize phone settings, press the MENU button, then the PHONE button, and then select SETTINGS.
