Types of Chargers

Honda EVs generally have two main charging options. The most effective and popular type is the Level 2 charger. You can find these at public stations in our huge North American charging network or have one installed at your home. Level 2 chargers can give you up to 35 miles of range per hour you charge your vehicle.

If your battery is running low and you need some emergency energy, use the Level 1 charging option by plugging your vehicle into a standard household outlet. This is slower and less powerful than Level 2, but it can give you a few miles of range so you can drive to a more powerful station.

Tips to Prolong Your Battery’s Range and Life

Here are a few best practices and good Honda EV charging habits:

  • Only charge your vehicle to 80% for your standard daily drives, as charging to 100% can cause undue wear on the battery.
  • Try not to let the battery drain down to 0%. This can also lead to battery damage.
  • Don’t let your vehicle sit for days at a time. Consistent driving will prevent the battery from aging too quickly.
